Chester Thomas Fabyanski, 88, of Bayonne passed away peacefully on Monday, September 26th, 2011. A World War II Navy veteran, he served on the U.S.S. Mindanao as a 1st Class Machinist. After graduating from Bayonne Technical High School, he worked for Westinghouse Elevator Co., then EXXON Corporation for the next 33 years retiring in 1985. He was the founder of Bayonne Window and Door Company. Chet was a member of the American Legion, VFW Post #226, Knights of Columbus, Royal Arcanum Council 695, and the Holy Name Society. Retiring at the age of 62 he had 26 years of full retirement to enjoy traveling with his beloved wife, Mary. Chester was an avid salt water fisherman and loved spending time around town talking with friends and family and offering a helping hand whenever needed. He gave his all -- time, energy and anything he had to anyone who was in need. He was also active in the community, voicing his opinion at town hall meetings and through letters. Chester is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary (Marion) Fabyanski, nee Konopka, his daughters, Mary Ann Grillo and her husband Bob of Toms River, NJ; Joyce Wallen and her husband Andrew of Berkley Heights, NJ; Debbie Jamer and her husband Jeff of Mendham, NJ; his 3 sons, Thomas and his wife Debbie of Mahwah, NJ; Chester Jr. and his wife Christine of Bayonne, NJ; Mark and his wife Kristyn of Madison NJ; He is also survived by his 12 adored grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
